A New Theory of Intelligence
”New Theory of Intelligence”
The Technological Leap: From Data Operations to Information Transformation
The new Intellectual Age is defined by the fact that large language models (LLMs), for the first time, allow for the technologization of cognitive operations by working directly with information rather than data. Unlike past systems, they are capable of performing complex transformations, such as synthesis and translation, thereby imitating human intellectual functions.
However, the key question of whether these systems are already working with knowledge remains open. They lack experience and goal-setting, but their ability to operate with semantics is the very essence of this new transition.
The Essence of the Shift: Transformation, Not Automation, Leading to a ”Time Collapse”
The ongoing changes are not merely automation (a quantitative improvement of the old), but a transformation (a qualitative leap that renders old processes irrelevant). Its essence is expressed in the "zero-time reproduction process" phenomenon: the time required for executing an action, mastering it, and for creating and disseminating new knowledge approaches zero. This fundamentally restructures the economy and activity, as human labor ceases to be the basic "material" for the reproduction of knowledge.
Implication: A World of Agent-Based Systems in a State of Constant Acceleration
The transformation gives rise to two new realities. First, a world of agent-based systems where a person without a personal intelligent agent will be unable to compete and interact with the new environment. Second, a paradigm shift is occurring: from the high but linear speed of the Digital Age to non-linear acceleration, where the rate of change itself constantly increases.
This shatters linear models of management and thought, establishing the primary task as the need to design a new conceptual apparatus and new ontologies that are adequate for an epoch of infinite complexity.
